Google Products (Email, Website Design, Documents, and more!)
Google created products that are free to home users, schools, and non-profits. For businesses, they use the same products; except businesses have to pay a monthly fee since your site may help you making a profit. You can use the product on any device (computer, laptop, tablet, phone, or gaming device (Wii, Xbox, etc.)) if it has internet access.

Google Labs: These are ways to add features to your Gmail account like: - canned responses you can use when making emails - Google calendar (makes a quick view of your calendar while you are in Gmail) - Google drive (makes a recently viewed view of drive items). - Google Sites (Make a website without being a programmer)
Creating a Google site by first going to http://sites.google.com and login with your Gmail user id and password.
BEFORE YOU START:
*In the video, where it says "Name Your Site", this is where you pick what the website address will be. You CANNOT change this after you start so be careful. mrswoytkiw7 is what I put so that the address ends in https://sites.google.com/site/mrswoytkiw7/ Personal websites to share information are free with Google. Google Sites For Business is a paid service.
You can also purchase a domain name (under $20./yr from GoDaddy.com) and forward it to this long path so that people can use your domain name instead. I purchased mrswoytkiw.com so I can give that out instead of the long path and it points to my Google site. If you click on both the long path and the short domain name, you will see they go to the same website.
**If you pick "blank template" and pick a "theme" for a look, that makes your site more original than a pre-made template that may require a lot of deleting.
**BEFORE YOU HIT CREATE: Always click on "More Options" to add in your "site description". This is what people see under your url in a search engine. - Google Documents (Google Docs) This is Google's version of Microsoft Office (Documents = Word, Spreadsheet=Excel, Presentation=PowerPoint, etc.)).
This is an online version of office software. It is now combined with Google Drive (drive.google.com) which is online storage space. It is a place to save files of almost any type "on the cloud"; which means it is located on Google's computer (server) instead of your computer.
